summer sunrises - a guiding light

When I saw this one morning last weekend, it took my breath away. My mind was instantly struck with the idea that ‘though clouds may move in and out of our lives, our guiding light is always there.’  Whether it be a spiritual guiding light, as it is for me, or your own guiding inner self, authentic self. Regardless of the clouds, the challenges, the distractions, the guiding force is always there.  Not that the obstacles don’t need to be dealt with, but in times of trouble I think we either tend to forget the light is there or, the clouds obscures the light because what we focus on always grows in importance. But the light is there.  When I shared the image with a friend, she said, it is also the darkest clouds that “remind us”, the light is there.

“Like the sunshine, which permeates all the atmosphere, spreading over the land and sea, and yet is enjoyed by each person, as though it were for him alone, so the Holy Spirit pours forth his grace in full measure, sufficient for all, and yet is present as though exclusively to everyone who can receive him.” – St. Basil the Great

What do think?  Do you ever need to remind yourself that the light is there?
