The Resilience Framework

You Are Not
Powerless.

The tools, skills, and practices from today’s keynote — yours to keep and put to work immediately.

Resilience isn’t a
personality type.
It’s a skill set.

It can be assessed. It can be developed. And unlike the circumstances swirling around you, it is something you can control.

In a world where burnout is at an all-time high, resilience is not a nice-to-have. It is the differentiator.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing — the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.”

— Viktor Frankl

01

Emotion Regulation

Your thoughts drive your emotions. When you can catch the thought — before it becomes a reaction — you keep your prefrontal cortex online. You stay in the driver’s seat. The pause between stimulus and response is where your power lives.

The Practice

Catch the thought → Question it → Take one breath → Respond, don’t react.

02

Authentic Connection

Connection doesn’t just make life richer — it literally increases your capacity to absorb stress. It loosens the rubber band. And yet we are lonelier than ever. Engagement, retention, and performance all trace back to one thing: people need to feel seen.

The Practice

Full attention is the greatest gift you can give. Try: “Tell me something good going on in your life.”

What’s your default thinking pattern?

Rate yourself honestly on each statement. 1 = rarely, 5 = almost always.

Resilience Self-Assessment

Based on Tracy Davidson’s keynote framework — 5 dimensions, 2 minutes

1. When stress hits, I can identify the specific thought that’s triggering my emotional response.

Rarely
Always

2. I pause before reacting — especially in high-pressure moments.

Rarely
Always

3. The people in my life feel truly seen and heard when they’re with me.

Rarely
Always

4. I intentionally invest in my own refueling — time, relationships, stillness.

Rarely
Always

5. When setbacks hit, I can right the ship and keep moving forward.

Rarely
Always

Three practices.
Beginning today.

Connect with yourself first.

You cannot pour from an empty vessel. This week, track where your time is actually going — every hour, for three days. Be honest. Then identify one 15-minute window you can reclaim for yourself.

Where is my time actually going — and am I giving any of it to myself?

Give someone your full attention.

Replace “How are you?” with “Tell me something good that’s going on in your life.” You will never get a worse answer. Phone down. Eyes present. The people you lead will remember how you made them feel.

When was the last time someone gave me their full attention — and when did I last give it to someone else?

Ask for the coffee.

Identify one person you’ve been meaning to reach out to — someone curious, warm, someone who could teach you something. Send the message today. You’ll be surprised how many people say yes, because someone once said yes to them.

Who is one person I’ve been meaning to connect with — and what’s actually stopping me?

Stay Connected

This doesn’t have to be
the end of the conversation.

Choose your next step. Every option below is designed to bring more of this work into your life and your leadership.
