While it is true that grocery, cosmetic, pet foods etc can be bought cheaply using coupons, there were a few things missing from your story that makes grocery, etc savings more complete.
If you search the internet you will find "coupon queens" everywhere. But what is missing, is the story of how much more can be saved using rebates. Also missing is how the other 50% of women shoppers (mainly older Americans), who do not have internet access, save.
I publish Refund World Magazine (www.refundworldmag.com) which lists refund, coupon and free sample offers. It also has a trading section where those without internet access can obtain coupons and rebate forms for current manufacturers' offers. It also has information about manufacturers, offers etc. The only internet access which is needed is for free samples, which are mostly internet based. The magazine has been published for over 25 years. I did a comedy skit with Don Polec in a local supermarket in 1990 or thereabouts, and I have appeared on The Betty Hughes Show in the 1970's.
Some offers companies make are really unbelievable. For example, Camel cigarettes gave away a $700.00 pool table for 500 empty Camel packs. People would search the streets to find these packs
At my website, you will find more details about the publication. It is mailed every two months. I would be happy to send you a few issues if you are interested.I am a resident of Newtown, PAArt Markowitz

I enjoyed your segment on the coupon lady. On June 1st, on the L&I website, information regarding the phasing-out of benefits was posted. On Friday, June 4 all benefits were stopped ...some in mid-stream. During that same week, on Friday I was approved for PA State benefits and on that Sunday, I was told that there were no more benefits and the one week that they do owe me was on hold. What were they thinking? Congress was supposed to vote on this Bill HR4213 and I believe that it did not pass. I am particularly interested in PA State benefits. They are actually holding my money until Congress passes the HR4213 one way or another. They have left Americans in the lurch with no money and no jobs.

Hi Tracy. Are you going to be doing any updates regarding the quick ending of unemployment? My husband was suppoed to fly on Dec 19th with our 20 month old son to see his parents in NC. Due to the dangerous driving conditions and long delays we opted not to travel that day. As it was an E-Saver the web site said changes could only be made by calling US Airways. We were on hold for over 4 hours that morning (and have the phone records to prove it) but nobody ever answered. Well, the flight finally left a couple of hours late and we called the next day to reschedule. We were told because we didn't reschedule on the date of travel the entire value of the ticket was forfeited. Is it our fault they dind't answer for 4 hours? We did call back a few days later and a woman told us "yes" we should be able to use that credit and restord it for us in the system (we have her name), but then the next week they siad again they have no value. They refuse to honor the amount paid towards credit on another flight (with us fully realizing we will pay the $150 change fee. I am so frustrated and I don't know what to do. We cannot be the only ones with this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated but a story on the bad business practices by the airlines I am sure whould help a lot of people. We just don't know where to turn. We tried the credit card company but they said unless we are trying to get a refund within 24 hours of booking a flight there is nothing they can do.Please help. We love you show and you have helped so many people.

During the snow storm we had a mjor issue with US Airways. Hi Kim –
I wrote to NBC10 back in December 2009 after Facebook was not assisting me in regaining access to my account following a phishing attempt. In the months following – I have written to them, called them, e-mailed them and filled out their online “help” e-mail’s……..still nothing.
I don’t know if you recall my initial email to you – but – my account was hacked into. Someone was posting erroneous posts on my friends walls. Facebook’s solution to the problem was to change my password. Once I did that – the new password was not accepted. I have not been able to regain access since I changed that password – back in the beginning of December. Towards the end of December – I created another account. Now – I have two accounts under the same name. If you do a search for me – you will see two accounts come up. All I want to do is regain access to the first account – delete my pictures and videos – and then cancel that account. In doing so – that would leave me with one account – the most recent one that I created at the end of December 2009.
I am sorry to bother you again with this – but – since you said back in December that you spoke personally with someone from Facebook – I was hoping you could help me resolve this once and for all. As I said – I have exhausted every possibility in trying to get them to help me. I don’t know what else to do.Thank you.

Was trying to e-mail Kim (Zicha) – but my e-mail was bounced back to me…….<br

I need some help! I was contacted by a company called VO Group LLC in Pleasantville, NJ (www.vogroup.net). They are a consulting service for people who own timeshare properties. In August 2008 we had a dispute over a theft at the Wyndham timeshare in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In April 2010, the VO Group called us saying that disputes of that nature come to their attention and they see if owners are happy with the resolution of situations. After some discussion about that matter, they asked if we had been informed by our timeshare company that our loan was bought by a third party and if, at our last owners’ update meeting (aka: sales pitch) , we were given the opportunity to pay off the loan at a reduced rate. We had never been given that information. They said they would look into it and we did indeed get a few more calls with updates on the situation. Meanwhile, not knowing anything about the VO Group LLC, I studied their website, checked their credentials with the New Jersey Better Business Bureau (they have an A- rating with no complaints against them), and searched a few scam/fraud websites to see if they pop up. So far so good. Last night (May 5, 2010) they called again and said that we can pay off our loan at approx. one-third the amount owed. Now here’s where my red flag has appeared. They have asked that we send a check payable to VO Group LLC and THEN they will email the paperwork. That sounds fishy to me. So…my questions to you are: Is this a scam? Is this legit? How can I find out? How do I know if my loan will actually be paid off? What’s my next step?
Thanks so much for all you do.
Yours – Diane Longenecker

PA unemployment helps pay to go back to school. I took a "self-employment" type job after being laid off for a year. The company I worked for did not pay for the work so I'm out of work again. I can't get unemployment because the job was "self-employment". That means I can not get the money to go to school to better my qualifications for another job.
I search the internet for grants and found so many scams. Do you have information on govt grants similar to that of the PA unemployment?
I appreciate your time!
