Win of the Week
Bob Lemon bought a Phillips Magnavox 50” television. Within a year it stopped working. He could not get the television repaired because he was no longer under warranty. Bob attempted to fix the television, but the cost to fix was more than the value. The consumer team helped Bob reach a get $1,300 settlement with Phillips.

How is it that a bank customer can discover and report 3 unauthorized debit card purchases to his bank; the bank investigatew and with the customer’s assistance, they determine the source of the fraud(i.e., when, where and how the perpetrators were able to access the information required to make the fraudulent purchase(s); HOWEVER, the bank would only reimburse the customer for the first fraudulent purchase but not the other 2. (??). For example, If there are 2 gas purchases on the same day, within hours of each other; the customer recognizes one but not the other (again the unrecognized purchase is within a short period after the time of the trenasction that the bank determined was fraudulent as well)……….Bottom line, not only is the bank not constomer friendly, they are not being reasonable, and are perpetrating another assault on their customer because the bank would not offset any of the NSF fees either!!! A large commerciail customer would have the financial leverage to push back……an honest hardworking, every day person who just has sufficient funds to pay their bills doesn’t… Sometimes they just get angry and then try to go on.
