No matter how diligent we are with paying our bills, credit card companies are still finding ways to hike up rates and fees…with no explanation. So why is this happening? Consumer advocates say credit card companies are racing against changes in credit card rules that are about to go into effect on August 20th. From then on, they will need to give consumers 45 days notice of rate changes, and billing statements must be mailed out 21 days before the due date.
