In the tough job market, many who have been laid-off are still struggling to find work- and when jobless benefits run out, making ends meet is no simple task. Today, Governor Ed Rendell is expected to sign a bill to extend jobless benefits for an additional 7 weeks. 60,000 workers in PA who will run out of their 72 weeks of unemployment benefits by Dec. 31, would be eligible. He said that about 20,000 people, who already ran out of more than a year of state and federal benefits, should see their unemployment checks almost immediately.
