I am in the “death” business. It is recession proof one might say. It is sometimes gory and very stressful but I enjoy the work I do. I don’t work for a funeral home, but I interact with them. The other problem for some folks who have a good paying job is that money does not come with instructions. People cant spend money faster than they earn it. However, if we keep watching you on WCAU and listen to people like Harry Gross (Phila Daily News), we can stretch our dollars further. Tracy good luck on your degree!!

Regarding the personal shopper: The wardrobe of on-air personalities is part of their on-air persona. When Tracy is not on the air she is Tracy Davidson girl next door. But when on the air she’s Tracy Davidson Consumer Advocate/Reporter. The personal shopper is part of her business expenses. The consignment store isn’t.

As my friend puts it when referring to his comedy act “It’s fun to be the other guy once in a while.” When we’re eating breakfast he’s talking about current events. That’s what Tracy does when she goes to work and changes, she becomes the on-air consumer reporter.

BTW I shop in consignment shops and thrift stores all of the time for electronics. I’ve got one mice wireless computer network at home. Thank you, Impact Thrift Stores!

I bet that the studio paid for that service beacuse as Tracy said, she shops consignment sometimes and the studio probably wants her in more expensive clothes. It’s just my opinion but it makes sense to me. Also, I did personal shopping for a while and only charged $20 an hour and half price to sick people before I got sick myself. So it is possible to have a personal shopper without spending big bucks. Ohh, and just because someone drives an expensive car doesnt mean their husband didnt buy it for them

I read in Philly mag that you(Tracy)have a personal shopper who helped you to improve her on-air image as far as attire is concerned. That service alone must come with a hefty price tag. I know that lady is not cheap and she drive a fabu porsche. Does your personal shopper buy clothing in consignment stores for you?

Ok, i have to add a few more…(I’m the “alexis” tracy talks about in her blog).

NO FANCY CARS FOR TRACY!!!
I was an intern in 2002, and tracy’s researcher in 2003…and if you only knew–Tracy’s car has remained the same!!! and when people ask her why she doesn’t get a new car–tracy’s response–”because this one is paid for!”

Ya know how people have to have their starbucks in the morning? If you only knew–NOT TRACY! She brings her thermos with coffee she made at home.

When Tracy and I went to florida last fall, you might think she’s a “first class” kind of girl…NOT SO, we flew in COACH.

Oh and ya know how she talked about her “consignment” jeans? Well just yesterday I told her I loved the shirt she had on, if you only knew–She wears clothes that are older than me! That’s because she saves, saves, and saves..NOT JUST MONEY FOLKS, but her clothes too! Come on, ya never know when old style will come back “IN” style! At least that’s what she says.

Ok, one more–many women have to have fancy purses…oh no, not Tracy..if you only knew…. I had to BEG HER to get rid of the ugly 1980 snake skin tiny purse she use to have for years and years and years…until finally she got another purse, and guess where she got it??? TARGET!!!

i could go on for hours….

but the bottom line is, Tracy doesn’t spend money on “things.”

Tracy spends money on “HELP.”

Like–Helping a priest friend of hers build hospitals and schools in Tanzania.

Giving back to women’s shelters who deal with women and domestic abuse.

Giving families with pre-mature babies (March of Dimes) HOPE that someday their children will walk, talk, and smile.

She would give the shirt off her back for a stranger.

hey Bruce– that’s exactly the way I put it… I just have a different job- that’s all. When people see me in line at the grocery store with coupons (even tho I’m the ocnsumer reporter and makes all the sense in the world to me).. they look at me like ..huh?? Ah yes, I clip coupons,, just like everybody else. As Joyce, Miss Coupon Diva would say, if i don’t, I’m just throwing out money…

he’s great Roseann. Thanks for asking. he’s so much fun and has gained weight and now holds pretty steady. And his “very different” way of eating, has just become routine for us… We just love him so much
