Being open is one of my “problems” according to my wife. Also, Elizabeth, my ex-boss, said the same thing. There’s nothing hidden with me. I find being this way gives the feeling of freedom as if I am not encumbered. If I have any walls they are small and few.

That is why i wrote my book. There is not one wall up in this book. I put my heart on my sleeve for everyone to show that it is possible to be who you are and not care what others think. Its a beautiful and freeing experience.

I just had a conversation with a friend about this exact thing. The distance that people feel from others is usually caused by the walls that we’ve each built and that to reconnect we must make that effort individually, as scary as it is, to lower the walls and share our true selves with people. Life is full of heartaches, dissappointments, and lows but we must experience them to appreciate the love, happiness, and highs that also are part of life. I challenge everyone around me to help me break down my walls and let them know that I am there to do the same for them.

I agree with you, but it becomes tougher to lower those “walls” when you feel like you’ve been betrayed too many times in the past.
