This week, the FDA will discuss potential safety measures to protect consumers from side effects of medications that we all have in our cabinets like Tylenol, Excedrin, and NyQuil. Acetaminophen continues to be the leading cause of liver failure in the U.S., sending about 56,000 people to the ER each year. The FDA along with more than 35 experts will discuss a variety of options- adding “black box” warning labels, lowering drug dosage, or pulling certain types of medications off the market.
