In response to the increasing number of children across the nation who have been injured or killed by falling televisions and furniture, lawmakers in New Jersey are urging manufacturers to do more to prevent these horrible tragedies. The Assembly has already given its approval to a measure that requires manufacturers to give consumers written notice about devices to secure the furniture and TVs at the time of purchase or rent, and the bill is waiting to be passed by the Senate’s Commerce Committee.
