Boost your odds of landing a mortgage
For some would-be buyers and refinancers, today’s mortgage rates are the ultimate tease. While ads tout the lowest... Continue reading
I am all about customer focus. I was when I was a waitress years ago. Ask my interns and I’ll tell them that is there number one job- to serve our customers. I think there is such value in customer service but like so many other niceties and manners these days, I am surprised when I actually experience good customer service. But recently I did, so I want to give a huge SHOUT OUT!!
I recently ordered some bedding from Macy’s. I went to the store to try out the beds, but needed some more information before I could order, so I had to call the store representative. When I did, he was terrific and couldn’t have been more helpful. Then came delivery, which usually can be THE biggest pain. I had requested a specific date. I got a recorded message the day before telling me they were set to deliver within a two hour window the next day. Great, I thought. Then, I got another call the morning of the delivery, a little while after the two hour window opened, telling me they would be there in twenty minutes. Right on time, it was incredible. The delivery men could not have been more professional or more helpful.
Because of that experience, a month later when I had to buy another piece of furniture, I went straight to macys.com. I had to eventually call to take advantage of an offer and schedule delivery. Again, the customer service representative could not have been nicer. He didn’t seem put out or like he was reading from a script. He seemed to be happy. He seemed to believe in the products and the company he was representing and he really seemed to want to be helpful. It was a very nice experience for this consumer.

Finally! Some Great Customer Service!!! Because of this…I will be sure to shop more at Macy’s! See companies?? Word of mouth DOES exist!
#Glad you had such a favorable customer service experience. We are encountering just the opposite with Maytag. We have a microwave that stopped working in June and despite efforts to get it repaired sooner, finally was able to get someone from Maytag to service it today (August 14). Turns out it needs a part covered by warranty that costs $110 — BUT the warranty is only five years and — you guessed it — it expired 14 days ago! Kicker is the unit was manufactured in July 2005 — but we didn’t buy it until January 2006 when we bought the house (new) — and the microwave (new) that came in it! Apparently, the repairman is not empowered to use common sense to see that the chances of a microwave being putchased the month it was manufactured is urealistic and has no leeway from Maytag to use good judgement to stand behind its products. Our option? Call an 800 number Monday (of course, no one is available on the weekend) and when it is answered, try to get a person to authorize coverage — a person with fewer facts than the repairperson had. Anything your team can do to help us right this situation?
#Thanks!

#Hello Ms. Tracy, I have a problem with NJ Unemployment. They are saying that I owe them nearly $19,000. This is a clerical error that they will not recognize as their own fault.
#I began receiving NJ Unemployment Benefits effective November, 2008 until December 2009 when I began working a Temporary position. I made them aware of my situation. I called them to continue my Unemployment Benefits when the job ended in February, 2010. At this time, they informed me that I should have been receiving UE Benefits from Pennsylvania effective May, 2009. However, I received and have in my posession the letter that I received from NJUE in May 2009 alerting me that they were providing me with Extended Unemployment Benefits. I had a Hearing in April, 2010 and was ruled responsible to pay back this money.
Ms. Tracy, I am writing because I feel this is a clerical error on their part, I had no idea where my benefits would come from. They are the people who advise someone about the UE Benefits they are eligible for. I am just an unemployed woman with no access to the information that is used to determine my benefits. I had no idea as to how many months I would be eligble in NJ and certainly no access to know that I was eligible for PA UE Benefits.
Ms. Tracy, I think this is a clerical error on their part and I feel that they will not admit their error. I have copies of all of the documents sent to them and their responses sent to me.
Please Ms. Tracy, give my situation your kind consideration as I do not know where to turn to get this problem resolved. I am not a dishonest person.
Regards,
Shirley Caldwell
