Chrysler Group LLC is voluntarily recalling about 356,000 Dodge Caravan, Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans globally for a possible problem with the effectiveness of the airbags in certain states.
The action, technically called a safety campaign, affects 2005-2006 model years but because the defect is related to weather, it only applies to vehicles sold or registered in Michigan as well as Ohio, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Alaska and the District of Columbia.
The problem is the sensors could crack under certain environmental conditions and allow water to enter causing the sensor to not work, which in turn would prevent the airbag from doing its job in a crash.

That’s more than half of the country! I find it strange that it could happen in Tennessee but not in northern part of Alabama. The weather seems to ignore state boundaries.
